talOS ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-assisted job search platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use our website and application (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide and data generated when you use the Service:
- Account information — name, email address, and authentication data through our identity provider (Clerk).
- Profile and job-search data — resume files, work history, skills, preferences, locations, salary targets, and finder agent settings.
- Application materials — tailored resumes, cover letters, and files you upload for specific job applications.
- Job and tracker data — saved roles, application status, notes, and URLs you add to your tracker.
- Copilot sessions — job posting URLs, form-filling context, session messages, and related metadata when you use Copilot Apply.
- Advisor content — chat messages and documents you upload to the Career Advisor.
- Support messages — text you send through the in-app contact form.
- Usage and billing — plan tier, feature usage (discoveries, builds, Copilot minutes, advisor messages), and subscription status.
- Technical data — device/browser type, IP address, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the Service (job discovery, tailored materials, Copilot Apply, Advisor).
- Authenticate you and enforce plan limits.
- Process subscriptions and usage metering.
- Respond to support requests.
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and fix errors.
- Comply with legal obligations.
AI features send relevant portions of your data to model providers to generate outputs (e.g. job fit scores, tailored resumes, Copilot actions). We do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers
We use trusted third parties to run talOS, including:
- Clerk — authentication and billing checkout
- Supabase — database and file storage
- OpenAI — AI generation and agent reasoning
- Browserbase — hosted browsers for Copilot Apply
- Vercel — application hosting
- Fly.io — Copilot worker infrastructure
- RapidAPI / JSearch — job listing search (when enabled)
- Stripe — payment processing (via Clerk Billing)
- Sentry — error monitoring (when enabled)
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and privacy policies. We share only what is needed for each service to function.
4. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. You may delete jobs, materials, and account-related content through the app where those controls exist. Account deletion requests can be submitted via Settings → Contact support.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security on user data in our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us through Settings → Contact support (signed in) or the methods listed on our website to exercise these rights.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools (such as Vercel Analytics) to understand aggregate usage. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings where applicable.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers subject to applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
